  • Since you have been claimed as a dependent on someone else's federal income tax return for the past two years, please submit ALL of the documents listed below when you mail or deliver your Residency Application in person.

    If a document cannot be submitted, please provide a written statement explaining why the document is not available.

    • A photocopy of the following pages of your parents' (or legal guardian's) federal income tax return filed for the most recent year:
      • the first page
      • the signatory page -- Must be signed
    • A photocopy of the following pages of your parents' (or legal guardian's) Rhode Island income tax return filed for the most recent year:
      • the first page
      • the page listing dependents
      • the signatory page -- Must be signed
    • Your parents' or legal guardian's rental lease or utility bills, or evidence of property ownership. Document needs to show one year of occupancy at the address listed on this Residency Application.
    • Parents' or legal guardian's RI driver's license and vehicle registration with issue dates that are at least one year prior to the first day of classes at RIC.

  • Since you have not been claimed as a dependent on someone else's federal income tax return for the past two years, please submit ALL of the documents listed below when you mail or deliver your Residency Application in person.

    If a document cannot be submitted, please provide a written statement explaining why the document is not available.

    • A photocopy of the following pages of your federal income tax return filed for the most recent year:
      • the first page
      • the signatory page -- Must be signed
    • Your rental lease or utility bills, or evidence of property ownership. The document needs to show one year of occupancy at the address listed on this Residency Application.
    • Your RI driver's license and vehicle registration with issue dates that are at least one year prior to the first day of classes at RIC.
    • If you are younger than 24, provide copies of your parents' or legal guardian's federal income tax returns for the last two years, or provide a notarized statement from your parents or legal guardian stating that you were not claimed as a dependent on their federal income tax return for the last two years and that they have no intention of such claim in the future.
